HOW CAN A KEYSTROKE BECOME A FRIEND?
How can a keystroke become a friend?
Having conversations without end,
Two minds, two hearts, together make
Memories that even death can't break.
Those first few tentative words we typed
Brought such closeness to our hurting hearts
A special friendship grew anew,
And spread to ever broadening parts.
The tears and joys we shared each day,
Both of today and of memories past,
Seemed to help us find a way,
To make a special friendship that would last.
Then came the tragedy of that word,
It’s CANCER that we dread.
Even with all the medical cures
That terrible evil still spread.
We kept on trying memories to make
Knowing the time was short,
But we knew it was up to fickle fate
When she would reach that final port.
My dear friend I will miss our long chats,
The knowing we would be there for each other.
Always assured that the friendship we shared,
Would carry us thru laughter, as well as our spats.
How can a keystroke become a friend?
By having two hearts that care.
Forever I'm blessed for having known you,
Someone so special you weren’t even aware.
